Phffft! Dance Company
Beyond the Threshold
Cyrus Khambatta, the Artistic Director of Phffft! brings us his latest installation entitled Shiver. Watch performers including Astad Deboo, the Mumbai-based father of Indian contemporary dance as they respond to the entire space "shivering" at the frequency of the earth's rotation around the sun. Shiver is only one part of the Beyond the Threshold Seattle International Dance Festival. In just three years, the festival has presented local, national and international artists including the work of artists from 15 different countries.
The Phffft! Dance Company contrasts rigorous partnering and athletic movement with authentic human content to create emotionally moving dance that is both visually beautiful and physically demanding.
Since arriving in Seattle from New York in 2001, its’ programming has been seen throughout the West Coast and abroad by over 10,000 people with works ranging from undercover site-specific pieces that spring to life around unsuspecting audiences to staged full-length interdisciplinary productions.
