Igorot Village Revisited
The Igorot Village Revisited is a village replica, complete with native huts and market place, in commemoration of the Igorot tribe’s participation in the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE). The Village is a commemoration of the centennial of the exposition, and showcases the Igorot culture through dance, gong-beating, dress, and demonstrations of basket-weaving, back-strap weaving, rice-wine making, and woodcarving. There are opportunities to learn native dance and participate hands-on in village activities. Descendants of some of the Igorots who participated in the 1909 AYPE are being honored.
