Ocean to Ocean in a Model T
Members of the Model T Ford Club International left White Plains, New York on Saturday, June 13, to reenact the 1909 Ocean to Ocean Endurance Race to the Alaska-Pacific-Yukon Exposition in Seattle. The Model Ts will arrive in Snoqualmie Pass on Thursday, July 9th. There will be a reception and a picnic for them that evening.
On Friday, July 10th, the Model Ts will continue on the short distance to Meadowbrook Farm for a salmon bake from 12-2pm before continuing on the rest of their journey. Greg Williamson will be performing with his Pony Boy All Star Band to add some Site-Specific music to this historic event. The 16-piece Big Band will present marches and songs performed at and written especially for Seattle's 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exhibition; complete with old instruments and dancers in period costumes. The 1909 music will be deconstructed and collaged into a modern jazz orchestra re-interpretation.
