THE PROJECT:

Re-creating her lost tradition of summertime migration to the Atlantic Ocean, Flatchestedmama brings the natural, childlike elements of her vacation memories into contrast with the chaos and desolation of her contemporary urban landscape. Flatchestedmama and photographer Adam Weintraub took the Urban Beach Scenes Project to a number of communities in all corners of King County. Communities represented in the slideshow (in alphabetical order) are: Auburn, Bellevue, Bothell, Des Moines, Duvall, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Issaquah, Kent, Lake Forest Park, Redmond, Renton, Sammamish, Seatac, Seattle, Shoreline and Tukwila.

and she's a founding member of an all-girl, adult double-dutch team.
