Urban Beach Walks

THE PROJECT:

Re-creating her lost tradition of summertime migration to the Atlantic Ocean, Flatchestedmama brings the natural, childlike elements of her vacation memories into contrast with the chaos and desolation of her contemporary urban landscape. In an Urban Beach Walk, nostalgia for the seashore is physically portrayed by an introduction then evacuation of a small path of sand, navigating her through urban landscapes.

Helping Flatchestedmama along her walks are: Cathleen Bozek, Ryan Crase, Marq Dean, A.J. Gardner, Trevor Kroop, Joe Moore, Erin Shafkind, Sam Trout and Adam Weintraub.
